We live in a time increasingly marked by misuses and abuses of personal, professional, status, and institutional power large and small. 

Since 2013, the Right Use of Power™ Institute has offered programs, tools, and resources that guide people and organizations to understand and use their power with integrity, wisdom, compassion, and skill. 

We invite you each October 28th to join our national annual celebration and celebrate the ways we can continue to be power positive to better our collective future!

Annual National BePowerPositive Awards

​To commemorate the first BePowerPositive Day, the Institute has honored one individual and one organization for their positive uses of power:

Individual Award: Ms. Marianne Williamson
Ms. Marianne Williamson is a celebrated author, speaker, and former U.S. presidential candidate. We honor Ms. Williamson for her courage in bringing ethical and spiritual considerations into the national political discussion and for using her public position to advocate for the rights of the oppressed and  a return to a democracy of inclusion, opportunity, and fairness for all.

Organization Award: ​YES! Magazine
YES! Magazine, co-founded in 1996 by Sarah van Gelder and David C. Korten, is a non-profit, reader-supported quarterly publication, offering “journalism for people building a better world.” In a time when the press worldwide is criticized for being partisan, manipulative, and negatively focused, we honor YES! for offering positive stories about individuals and groups working effectively for the greater good of the planet and for consistently cultivating a positive vision for our collective future.
